I held my bag close as I looked through the compartments. Everyone seemed content so I just decided to pick the compartment where a rather older man slept in a ball in the other seat. I did my best to stay quiet as I set my stuff beside. I studied the mans movements. He wasn't terribly old, maybe 34 or 5, he looked clean shaven from my angle, but then agian. I shook my head as I glance agian out the window. The train had already started and was on its merry way, trees thrashed agianst a terrible wind outside, but the oncoming black clouds didn't seem to help. I reached into my bag and retrieved. A Bludger gone bad: The True tale of Marie Greden My fingers itched to open the book and read and go off into my daydreams, but I couldn't. Something, something...ate at my soul..it still might be the memories. The screams, the tears...the bodies. I shivered at the thought. It had been 2 years since it all happened, since Eve, Hexle, and Danny had died along with so many others during the Hogwarts battle, in a way the battle still isn't over.

Alison walked about the crowded aisles of students. It was somewhat easier to be small and compact, as she slipped in between others. Although, the responsibility of carrying her luggage and what not was a large hassle. She made is safely into a compartment, sighing greatly with stress. Her small calico feline, Persephone, mewed at Alison from the cage. Alison squeezed a finger in the hole and lightly stroked the cat's head. Her hand receded and she stretched, accompanied with a large yawn. It had been a long day.

Runarai simply squeezed past most of the legs and arms of the older children, a seemingly frightened yet amazed look spread upon his face. He managed to get to a further back compartment, after a while, and exhaled deeply. He immediately began to survey the surrounding passengers. Luckily, there were only three, two girls and an older man. One of them was the girl that had assisted him earlier, however that didn't shake his choice of sitting alone. He placed Sam in the seat first, then sat down himself, wrapping an arm about the cage. He hooted once, somewhat noisily, and was then quiet.

Alison looked over at the first year, then his owl. "That's a pretty cool owl," She smiled, "What's his name?" She ran her fingers through her long strands of hair, untangling the slightest knot. She remembered when she was a first year; it was intimidating, lonesome and a big hassle.

His head quickly turned to the aisle. There stood a shorter girl, but she still had a good five inches on him. She was clearly human, and that frightened, yet pleased him. He wasn't sure how exactly to talk to her, so he did the best he could. "Sam... His name is Sam." He thought of a question to give to her as well, but only came up with "What about your cat?"

"her name is Persephone.. like the Greek goddess." She simply smiled. "Wanna sit over here? I don't bite." Alison boldly said. She put her luggage up, and then moved to the side, allowing any room for the 1st year, if he intended on joining.

Runarai looked at Sam, who only tilted his head in return. He then rolled his eyes at the owl, and turned his head back to the girl. He knew what the Greeks and their gods and goddesses were and were all about, it was one of the things his mother had taught him about back in the darkness. What he hadn't known is that such names were still in use. With no consent contrary from his owl, he considered it in a semi-logical way, like he did with most situations. He considered it would be polite if he accepted, so he did, bringing Sam alongside him. The owl hooted again, twice this time, as the train began to move.

"first year, eh? I remember the feeling" Alison slouched a little. "OH!! I'm Alison.. Alison Votaw, just to let you know." She gave a large, toothy grin at the first year, holding out her hand for him to shake. It was going to be a long ride to Hogwarts, or seemed like it at least. She would rather stay on the train more than anything than go back to school.

He stuck the name to memory, Alison Votaw. Probably a good idea to save that one. After that, she had put out her hand, which... Runarai just stared at for a while. He wasn't sure exactly what to do. His mother hadn't really told him of human greetings and such, so he was... a tad unfamiliar. He then looked back up at her face, confusion spread clear on his face. Returning to gaze at her hand, he studied it a bit, really odd things, like the angle and position of the fingers, in case he encountered this again, trying to figure out what on earth she was attempting to convey.

Alison giggled, and took his hand in hers and shook it gently. "You shake it, its a friendly greeting.." Her hand receded and she took out an iPod from her pocket, and plugged a single bud into her ear, she offered the other to the boy. "Wanna listen to some music?" She asked.

Runarai nodded slowly as she explained the hand shaking. He also dedicated this to memory, very good idea. "By the way, I'm Runarai... Runarai Von Mortis." He looked inquisitively at the ear bud and considered her offer. He knew what music was, though the technology was unfamiliar. However, he couldn't help but wonder how all the sound from a musical group or artist got into such a little device. He watched her put the thing in her ear, so he shrugged, and did the same.

Alison hummed along to the lyrics of the music. Her foot tapping softly onto the carpeted floor of the train. She stared out of the window longingly to reach Hogwarts soon. She reached into her robe pocket and pulled out her cellphone. She mumbled to herself in a foul tone, "More bars in more places my ass...". Sighing quite agressively, Alison shoved her cellphone back into her pocket.

Runarai's head rocked back and forth slightly to the beat of the music. He had, out of the corner of his eye, noticed the other electrical device. From general knowledge, he identified it as the 'cellphone' that humans used so much. This was, of course, the first time he had seen one up close, and it looked rather expensive. Alison probably had quite a bit of money, either that or she had gotten it free of charge. As for the bars she had spoken of, he was a bit confused. Did she mean the sort of bars where humans bought alcoholic beverages, or was there some other meaning. It all confused him quite a bit, and he couldn't stop himself from rubbing his head a bit in slight frustration.

Alison had caught Runarai's glance, and removed her cellphone from her pocket again. "This is a cellphone. I have the Verizon Wireless service; "More bars in more places"...", She paused to stop and think, "When they mean bars, they don't mean the place where middle aged men go to deal with their mid-life crisis and drink alcohol. it means the signal strength to call anyone." She slid the phone open and went onto her camera application. "Smile.", She stated.

Now with admittedly a much more significant grasp on these cell phones and bars, he nodded, returning his hand to his lap. He was a bit curious as to what she was doing with her phone this time, but heard her say smile. Instinctively, and without a second thought, he did so, and a classic smile at that. It showed no teeth, but it was clearly warm and friendly, reflecting how he felt he could feel around her.
