Within minutes Sephor had landed in a relatively safe place in front of the tall doors that allowed entrance to the ancient stone castle. Carefully she looked up, unsure if the building would reject her odd presence. With a startled look she remembered it wouldn't exactly do for students and teachers alike to be running into a pair of invisible wings. Turning slightly to look behind her she pulled in the large appendages as close to her back as possible. Satisfied with this, she opened the ornamental doors and trotted in on her tip-toes. As this was her first time here as a student she took care to give close attention to the details. Already she had memorized the halls of the school as Dumbledore had been kind enough to grant her a tour. Thankful for the sharp, photogenic memory she had been blessed with she took off up the staris and corridors at a light run. No one was here except for the occasional teacher and those she could smell and hear long before they would know of her presence.
Her quick steps slowed as she came to the Great Hall. It truly was a piece of work in and of itself. Respectfully she bent her head and moved through the long tables to her own. Slytherin greens and silvers decorated the wooden mass and Sephor sat delicately at the very front, closest to where the teachers sat. It was from this position that the massive extremities would not be in the way so much and she would be able to keep a close eye on those who would call themselves her teachers. Chances were she knew more that half of whatever they had in mind this year.

Runarai looked up in awe at the two enormous doors leading into the castle. He couldn't tell from the ground how far up they went, and decided to make a note of this. He returned his attention to those around him, and found them to do simply what, moments ago, he had been doing himself. Probably, they too, were first years. With them distracted like this, he took the opportunity to adjust his wings, wrapping them around his body. The only real visible part of the wings were the bottoms and claws at the top, which barely peeked out.
He continued in the flow of general students, which led to the Great Hall. Where they continued walking, he stopped, gazing up at the ceiling, mouth slightly ajar. The ceiling above them was truly magnificent, it resembled perfectly the sky outside, as if there was no roof at all. He caught himself with his mouth open like that, and closed it quickly. Something might fly into it. Then he noticed that he had lost track of all other students, including Alison for a while now, and was... very much lost. He attempted not to panic, but ended up darting both his head and eyes back and forth, looking for some help.

A creaking sound reverberated throughout the Great Hall and Sephor cocked her head just so her sensitive hearing could pick up the slap of feet against cold stone. Many students poured in and she felt herself beginning to freeze up, as was her wont in such situations. With a fair amount of mental scolding she managed to get her body to relax. At last she turned misty eyes to actually look at those she would come to know over the year. Many had excited looks, even those who must have been attending the school for over a couple of years. One particular student caught her attention and held it rapt. He was male, and appeared any young male shoulde except for one little thing. A pair of draconic wings were barely visible but very noticable as they protested loudly against the confines of the robes.
Other people gave him a semi-wide berth and Sephor was vaguely thankful that her own terrible wings could not be seen by the innocent. The boy had entered alone and lost, only to have the children streaming in moments laer but still that look of panic resided. The thick misted appearance of her eyes often ga ve her gaze a far-off illusion. Now she turned that haunting gaze to the boy and, curious of his ability to see other signs of mythical creatures, spread the enormous wings upon her own back. One would think she'd be off balance by the sheer size of them but for some reason or another they were quite light, at least to her. As quickly as she had moved to make them known she withdrew them as close to her back as possible.

Runarai was henceforth snapped back into reality as he could only stand and pay witness to the opening of two enormous wings from the body of some girl, sitting at a long table, dressed in green and silver. He was amazed both at the proportion of them to her body, and at the act that nobody had moved the slightest. He suspected that, even if some people were used to seeing them, the first years, wherever they would, were to react. He waited a little bit, to see if anything would still happen... but nothing. He found this very odd, and felt both entranced and still too fear-stricken by the absence of direction to move at all. He wasn't sure which instinct to obey, approach this other clearly mythical-blooded being, or continue to attempt to find some kind of assistance.

The doors slammed open as the teachers began to file in. One teacher in particular decided to move through the children- adjusting his glasses every now and again to look the students over. He froze in front of a new year with a peculiar aura. Hm. What a fascinating boy. It looked as if his robe was straining- wings perhaps. He wasn't the only wings it seemed. He flicked his eyes up to see a beautiful pear of ebon wings that belonged to a mysterious source. Mr. Kuroi moved a little closer to the boy and rested a cold hand on his shoulder- leaning down a little. "Pardon me." he purred- his dark eyes observing every little bit of the boy's face. He moved back a little feeling an all too familiar strain on himself. "Watch where you are going young master." he whispered, moving around the boy to glide towards his seat at the teacher's table.

Runarai felt tempted to jump maybe ten feet from the ground at the man's icy touch. He was incredulously tall, literally towering over him. Not to mention, there was this... aura about him. He wasn't sure what it was, but simply being near the man TERRIFIED Runarai. Sort of like the feeling he got when there were... hundreds of large, hairy spiders surrounding him. He didn't relax still when the hand left his shoulder, and the man's voice came creeping towards his ears. Still though, he felt like he needed to do something, this man was clearly a teacher. He followed the teacher a short bit, till he got near the girl with the wings, and said "E-excuse me..." loud enough that hopefully one of them heard.
(OOC: You know, because the Slytherin table is totally on the way to the teacher's seating. Hehehe.)

Sephor watched through shifting eyes as the wyrmling (this being her chosen nickname for the dragon winged boy) continued to look hopelessly lost. A startlingly tall teacher passed through the flood of children and came to a stop near the boy. Her head cocked to one side as if extremely curious. Certainly this little wyrmling was a bit obvious of his heritage but that teacher... He had a feeling about him that was similar to her own. An aura of cold, dank, dark places where one might terrify the life out of another. Shaking her head in very thestralish way she tucked her wings close so any passing by did not accidently bump into them.
The first year spoke and while Sephor wasn't one to communicate easily with others, she felt it was her duty to at least try to help another mythical beast. Turning just slightly in her seat she looked without expression into the face of the wyrmling. "Is there something you require or wish to ask?" she murmured softly with a tone of warmth. Her body was unused to showing emotion yet her voice often told everything she currently felt at the moment.
((OOC: Omigawd, Sevvy thinks Kuroi rocks hard! xD))

The Teacher swung around to look at the students for a few moments before smiling a creepy smile that made his pale face look much more devious. His teeth looked almost sharp to touch, it was just the lighting- or was it? He pushed his glasses up the rim of his nose and turned away once more- striding up to the table to take his seat, looking much like a content cat with a mouse's tail caught under his paw. He struck up a minuscule conversation with a female professor and then gazed up at the sky with that same menacing grin he had just flashed minutes before. This was going to be an interesting year at Hogwarts. This he swore on his life- not that that mattered much.

Runarai nearly jumped out of his skin from the man's smile. Were those... points?? This man was clearly one to watch out for. However, at least one of them was at least courteous enough to give unto him a reply. He turned to the girl with the wings, finally. From the tone of her voice, he was less frightened of her, but more... intrigued. Still terrified from the teacher's cynical smile a moment ago, his voice had a bit of a squeak to it, which he quickly cleared up by a swift cough. "Ye- yes please... Can you... tell me where I might find my seat?" He would ask about her wings at a different time, first he needed his initial answer. However, no matter how much he tried to put it off, it constantly itched at the back of his throat, this being quite clearly shown physically by him biting at his lower lip.

Sephor watched the most stand outish of the teachers from the corner of her eyes. He certainly was an oddity and she'd be sure to be wary of him. That he had been able to see her wings she had no doubt. What mattered was that her terrible background remained buried in this world of light and she meant to keep it hidden. Glancing back up into the boys face she found her voice once more. "Have you been sorted yet?" Letting her eyes wander up and down his body she added in a lower voice, "Hmm, he appears to be Gryffindor..." The fact that the boy had wings as well comforted her to an extent and she felt she could relax.

Runarai cocked his head at her inquiry "Sorted? I don't think so... what is it? Sort of like with different shaped rocks?" He hated being so clueless about the customs of the outside world, almost to the point that infuriated him. It was completely unfair, these people had known these things possibly all their lives, where he had only a few words from his mother about this place. He would probably find out more from this girl here or perhaps Alison, but still, it was annoying. He also thought he heard something at the end there, but couldn't be sure what it was. And then, of course, there was the continual itching about the wings question.

For the first time in quite a while, Sephor's fine dark brows furrowed in unbelief. How could anyone not know what a sorting is? 'Now now, no need to get ahead of yourself Seph.' she admonished herself silently. Brining her gaze back up to the boy's she spoke in a clear, intellectual tone. "To be Sorted is when the Deputy Headmaster places the Sorting Hat," Pausing she nodded towards a rather dumpy old hat sitting upon a stoon at the front of the Great Hall. "on top of you head and it chooses which House you will fit into best." There was a nagging feeling he might ask about houses and perhaps even her wings but she would not give information out unless and perhaps not even then. A line was beginning to form as fear colored the 1st years faces.

He slowly nodded, thinking he was starting to understand. He remembered that his mother had told him four names in particular. Those, he pieced together with this new information, must be the names of the houses! He grinned to himself, believing he had this partly figured out, except for which table went with which name. "So, what you're saying is, I wanna hurry up and get in that line across the room? Gotchya!" He swiftly turned into the direction of the flustered line of people, and took a deep breath. "Oh, by the way, the name is Runarai. Glad to meet you, and maybe I'll get into your house! You never know, right?" He then took off hurriedly along the tables, dodging in between the backs of older students, mainly wishing that he had asked of the wings, and that he had gotten her name in return.
